Day 5 – F-18 Super Hornet

On Friday I signed up to go into the ‘pit’ which was across the crowd line and close to the runway reserved for a select few photographers each day. I was filming most of the afternoon but did manage to get a few snaps of the showcase display by this F-18 Super Hornet fighter jet.

Day 4 – Baby Carmen and the arrival of the C-5 Galaxy

The Oshkosh Airventure show just got busier and busier towards the end of the week with more people and more aircraft arrivals so I didn’t have much of a chance to post but here are some pictures from day four.

Day 3 – On the apron

On Wednesday I got the chance to check out a few of the planes on the apron while trying to escape the heat like everyone else watching the airshow display from the shade of this C 17.

Day 2 – Warbirds over Wisconsin

After some rain overnight we had a cooler morning as we went straight down to the flight line waiting for one of the Blue Angels to fly in when this huge C 17 arrived.

The rest of the morning was spent checking out all the airplane parks that we hadn’t seen yet. I still can’t get over just how many planes are perked here. In the afternoon it was time for another airshow display which was fantastic. It started with an hour of warbirds.

Day 1 – “Smoke on. Go!”

South African campsite at Oshkosh 2012

So today we arrived at Oshkosh and settled in to the amazingly well organised South African campsite in Camp Scholler complete with braais and live music. All ready for the start of Oshkosh 2012 tomorrow…
