Day 2 – Warbirds over Wisconsin

After some rain overnight we had a cooler morning as we went straight down to the flight line waiting for one of the Blue Angels to fly in when this huge C 17 arrived.

The rest of the morning was spent checking out all the airplane parks that we hadn’t seen yet. I still can’t get over just how many planes are perked here. In the afternoon it was time for another airshow display which was fantastic. It started with an hour of warbirds.

Then the Liberty Skydiving team opened the show with a team of RVs circling them as they came down.

Then we had the Red Bull Airforce wingsuit jumpers with a red bull plane doing barrel rolls around them as they flew.

The highlight for me was this Beech Twin being thrown around like it was an aerobatics plane.

Another first for me was seeing a wingwalker – not sure I’d do this.

On the second attempt the pilot succeeded in landing this Piper Cub on top of a truck doing 55 mph.

The Worlds Busiest Control Tower.

Another great day at EAA, Oshkosh 2012.
